AP® World History: Modern

The Advanced Placement® World History: Modern course takes students on an exploration across the world from 1200 CE until the present day, focusing on presenting history through the lenses of comparison, cause and effect, and continuity and change across time. Starting by setting the stage across 6 regions and the trade networks that connect them, the course continues with the rise of land and sea based empires. In Units 5 & 6, nationalism, the Industrial Revolution, and imperialism are focal points that bring us into the modern era. The last time period of the course deals with the 20th century: both world wars and the interwar period, the Cold War and the rise of communism, postwar decolonization, and lastly modern day globalization. Our course is centered on preparing students for the AP® World History: Modern exam, which consists of both multiple choice questions and free response questions on various prompts.
